Louth Science Festival

Louth Science Festival 2024 – celebrates, explores and promotes the wonders of science & technology in our everyday lives. This year Louth Library Service are planning to have 2 days of workshops and talks, in Dundalk on the 10th November and Drogheda on the 17th November.  The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Regeneration’.  They will aim to provide a programme of events and workshops that seek to help people understand how science and technology can help to create a positive environment and use arts and creativity to get our message across. Some of the workshops and events will be specifically for women and will focus on the science of the mind and body and how science combined with art and creativity can promote a sense of well being. They will look at themes around the science of exercise, mindfulness and nutrition and how our bodies and mind react.  Workshops for children will be run in conjunction with adult workshops to allow parents to attend.

A key aim of this year’s festival is to encourage participation in STEAM activities for teenage girls.  Workshops have been planned around the themes of sustainable fashion and upcycling, with talks and workshops from women in STEAM.

Events will be run with support from Creative Ireland and booking details and a full programme of workshops will be announced at the end of October.
